Steve Albert - Monster Truck
Victoria, British Columbia
Steve Albert, works behind a desk writing computer programs for the Government but he dreams of bigger and better things. They don't get much bigger than a Monster Truck and our IT worker gets strapped in the ride of a lifetime.
Driving the Monster seems relatively straightforward, but crushing a line of cars is going to take all the courage he can muster and then some. Steve gets a front row on the eve of his big event and watches as his teacher crashes the truck he's preparing to drive. As they rush to repair the truck, hopefully Steve won't have second thoughts.

Criss Rachar - High Tower Crane
Tillsonburg, Ontario
Criss is a firefighter who hasn't seen a Tower Crane he doesn't love. He gets to climb atop the rig of his boyhood dreams, but his buddies back at the fire hall would like nothing more than to see him fail.
His tests start right away with the hoist and drop test, then on to the concrete line pour test and finally the load flip. Each test mimics necessary skills a crane operator would do on a real jobsite. If Criss is good enough at the tests he gets to help build a real hospital. There he must prove his crane skills in a final challenge that will show his buddies back at the firehall who is king of the crane.

Kemar Trenchfield - Great Lakes Freighter
Ajax, Ontario
Kemar is a self-made man who emigrated from Jamaica and put himself through University at the top of his class. There is nothing he thinks he can't do, but squeezing the MV Algowood freighter into a canal with only less than half a metre of clearance on each side might prove to be the greatest challenge of his life.
It will take nerves of steel, a slow steady hand, and intense concentration to keep the ship from rubbing up against the walls. He'll get his sea legs in a huge simulator before taking the wheel of a small boat going through the Trent waterways canal system. Finally Kemar will take the controls of a freighter more than two football fields long and steer it through one of the narrow canals of the Welland Canal System.

Ryan Wonitoy - Rock Quarry
Edmonton, Alberta
Handyman Ryan thinks he is the best at everything he does. He is confident that crushing rocks in a rock quarry is up there with a walk in the park. When this Edmontonian climbs atop the enormous dumpster, and into the huge loader, he is in for a few lessons.
Stones test his loader prowess and his finesse at the controls. The dumpster puts his depth perception through the ringer. All the challenges culminate in a final rock quarry derby where he must pull together all of his load and dump skills to a race against the clock of industry standard time.

Jen Lumley - Steel Slab Carrier
Golden, B.C.
Jen Lumley is at home driving her '69 Camaro, or going horseback riding through the valleys of the Rock Mountains but she's anxious to prove she can operate even the most complicated heavy machine.
At the Essar Steel Plant in Sault Sainte Marie, Jen learns the ropes on a Steel Slab Carrier, one of the most difficult machines to operate at the Mill. Jen is taught the delicate art of approaching a steel slab, and the techniques involved in hoisting 80 tons in the air. Driving and hoisting are just part of the job, the real challenge for Jen comes when she's asked to carry steel from the open yard, through a narrow door and into the dark interior of the Mill. It's a challenge that even the pros have trouble with.

John Ki - Combine Harvester
Toronto, Ontario
The last place comedian John Ki thought he would end up would be at the controls of a Combine Harvester; after all he's never been to a farm.
But here he was getting used to the rear-wheel steering of this state-of-the-art machine. He begins his rural training by taking the harvester through an obstacle course before learning how to attach the 7.6-metre header. Once the header is attached John quickly learns that even though the machine is huge it needs to be finessed in order to be most effective. In his final challenge, John goes up against the pro in a race against time to see who can harvest an entire field of wheat first. It's a challenge that will test John's patience more than his speed.

Chris Syrie - Locomotive
Caledonia, Ontario
Country singer Chris Syrie quickly finds out that operating a full-sized diesel train is more than just a romantic fantasy, there are potential dangers at every turn.
Harnessing the power of 1,800 horsepower is the first lesson as Chris learns the eight speeds of the GP9, and more importantly how to bring this huge locomotive to a stop in case of an emergency. Hooking up, or coupling with other cars, provides a huge test for Chris as he attempts to build a train 24 cars long. His final challenge will call on all his newfound skills as he takes on a professional engineer in an obstacle course on a 48-kilometre long training track.

Jack Wojcicki - Hovercraft
Oakville, Ontario
Jack spends his days in front of a computer helping clients with public relations challenges, but when he has spare time you can find him in the outdoors. Now Jack is at the controls of a very unique vessel, an 18-passenger Hovercraft on the waters of Georgian Bay.
It's a very difficult vessel to operate because it's not quite a boat that operates a lot like a plane. First up our PR man learns how to hover in one spot, before taking the Hovercraft through a tight slalom course and beaching the craft on land. He'll need to master the basics because Jack will be put to the test when he's asked to transport a patient in a medical emergency where time is of the essence.

Andrew Perry - Scooptram
St. John's, Newfoundland
The Scooptram is a challenge for our snowboard whiz from the rocks of Newfoundland. It has articulated steering and the driver sits on the side of the vehicle facing in, and driving in the dark just makes it that much more difficult.
After Andrew learns the driving controls of the Scooptram he'll head underground where he'll be asked to navigate a complicated series of tunnels with only the light on his hard hat. His final challenge will pit him against a professional driver and the clock as he attempts to scoop a load and then remember how to get back out of the mine. It's a challenge that will not only test his driving skills but how he reacts under pressure.

Miguel Goncalves - Log Harvester
Mississauga, Ontario
Miguel spends a lot of time behind the wheel as a truck driver, but he's never operated anything quite like the Timber King Log Harvester.
After a brief driving lesson, Miguel goes to school on the Harvester, practicing the art of approaching and clamping on to a tree before releasing the cutting blade on the trunk. Our truck driver will learn the correct angle to approach the tree and where to fell it. Finally Miguel takes tree harvesting to the next level as he's taught the precise skill of stripping the tree and piling the logs in a neat pile. The Timber Jack is a very powerful and potentially dangerous machine that demands all of Miguel's concentration and skill.

Martin Constantineau - Tank
Sainte Adele, Quebec
Martin normally lives in the world of science fiction, but once he got behind the controls of the M60 Tank reality began to set in. Martin went to boot camp and started his lessons on an armoured personnel carrier to get used to steering a vehicle with tracks instead of wheels.
He soon graduated to the M60 where he finessed the tank through a slalom course before trying to bring 27 tons to a sudden stop. Our sci-fi fan was taught how to turn on the spot before moving on to his final challenge. The final challenge incorporated every discipline Martin was taught, as he had to take on the pro in an obstacle course that featured speed and handling.

Tony Sarifina - Construction Grader
Grimsby, Ontario
Contractor Tony is confident he can drive anything with wheels, but a road grader is a lot more complex than your everyday construction vehicle.
The grader is the finishing machine on the road construction site and Tony learns very quickly why. After he goes through the basics of driving the grader, Tony is taught the delicate maneuverings of the grading blade and it doesn't take our contractor long to respect the skills involved. His final challenge will involve an obstacle course where he takes on the pro and the clock in a race to level a roadway and prepare it for paving.

Gina Sherrington - Big Rig
Halifax, Nova Scotia
Gina, a personal trainer from Halifax, Nova Scotia had no idea what she was in for when she first sat behind the wheel of an 18-wheel big rig.
The self-proclaimed best parallel parker also admitted to not being very good when it comes to backing up. Her first lesson involved the art of double-clutching, from there she moved on to her least favourite activity, backing-up. Gina surprised herself with how quickly she picked up the basics, but the final challenge would force her to pull out all of her newfound skills in an obstacle course where three mistakes result in failure.
